Understanding Sponsor Badges
What the sponsor badges on job cards mean and how to read them.
Badge types
You'll see two badge styles on job cards when visa filtering is active:
- Green shield -- "H1B Sponsor" -- This company is a verified or likely H1B sponsor based on DOL filing data.
- Orange warning -- "No Sponsorship" -- The job description contains language indicating sponsorship is not available.
Sponsor details
Hover over a green sponsor badge to see a quick summary. Click it to open the full sponsor detail panel, which shows:
- Filing count -- How many H1B LCAs the company has filed.
- Approval rate -- Percentage of filings approved.
- Average salary -- Typical salary range from their H1B filings.
- Job titles filed for -- The roles they've sponsored in the past.
- Latest filing year -- How recently they've been active.
This data comes directly from Department of Labor records and is refreshed quarterly.
Why some jobs show "Unknown"
If a company has no match in the DOL database, the job shows no sponsor badge at all. This doesn't mean they won't sponsor. It could be a new company, a company that sponsors under a different legal name, or a company that hasn't sponsored before but might consider it.
For "Unknown" companies, check the job description directly. Look for phrases like "visa sponsorship available" or "must be authorized to work in the US."
For H1B transfer seekers
If your visa status is H1B, ApplyFast distinguishes between companies that file new H1B petitions and those with a history of H1B transfers. The sponsor detail panel notes this when data is available, so you can prioritize transfer-friendly employers.
